Board Members

The volunteer board of Prostate Cancer Foundation BC is as diverse as it is passionate. Made up of some survivors, and other giving individuals; the board works year round for the cause.

Ian is a Deal Advisory Partner at KPMG and leads KPMG’s Transaction Services practice in Western Canada. He has been advising clients on mergers, acquisitions and disposals for over 19 years. Ian started his career in the UK before moving to Toronto in 2003 and then relocating to Vancouver in 2005.

Judy is a registered CGA in Vancouver. Previously a partner with KPMG, Judy now provides financial and tax advice to individuals and small businesses. She is also a board member of the Auxiliary to BC Children's Hospital, Christ for the City International (Canada) and Reachout Africa. Judy has worked tirelessly for Prostate Cancer Foundation BC both as treasurer for many years and also helping with all the many events and functions.

Jeff Morgan worked with the Adera Group of Companies including Terrapin Mortgage Investment Corp. since 1999. Jeff is responsible for the overall operations of Terrapin including overseeing mortgage underwriting, administration, and investor relations. Jeff brings his management skills to many areas of the board of Prostate Cancer Foundation BC including areas of awareness, fundraising, and events. Jeff joined PCFBC in 2008 to put his passion to fight cancer to work toward what Jeff believes is the most prominent cancer affecting men.

Dr. Cox is an Associate Professor, Department of Urologic Sciences at the University of British Columbia and the Senior Scientist at The Vancouver Prostate Centre. Dr. Cox is a molecular and cellular biologist who earned his PhD in Biochemistry from the University of North Carolina for studies on how oncogenes impact neuronal growth and differentiation. He began his work on cell signalling networks in prostate cancer at the University of Virginia.

Mark owned and operated an alarm company called “Pacific Protective Systems” from 1974 to 2006. While in business, he helped form the Alarm Association of BC and later served as President. He was instrumental in helping the BC group of companies amalgamate with the national association which went on to become the Canadian Security Association. Mark is a prostate cancer survivor.

Tim is a Master Data Project Manager at BC Hydro for the materials management business unit. He is a certified project management professional with a graduate degree in Physical and Health Education and over 15 years of experience in the utility sector. Tim’s father and uncle are Prostate Cancer survivors and have been cancer free for over 10 years. Tim has been actively involved in Prostate Cancer education and fundraising for many years and recently completed a six week motorcycle awareness ride as editor of the Canadian Route 66 Association newsletter.

Len is the chair of the Vancouver Prostate Cancer Network group and one of the founding members of Prostate Cancer Foundation BC. He is the founding member of the Canadian Prostate Cancer Network (CPCN) which is currently known as Prostate Cancer Canada Network and is a past member of the Advisory Board. Len was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer in May of 1992.

Seth is the Senior Vice President & Portfolio Manager and the founder of Cadence Financial Group at Raymond James Ltd. He is also a voting member of the Raymond James Investment Advisory Strategy Group which is responsible for setting the long-term strategic view on both capital markets and asset allocation for Raymond James Ltd. and is a member of the Local Advisory Committee that provides advice and recommendations to the Venture Exchange (TMX Group). In addition to his duties as a director of the Prostate Cancer Foundations of BC, he assists with organizing, fundraising and participating in the Raymond James Father’s Day Walk Run held every year in cities across BC.

Ray is the Division Vice President, Canada for Ecco Heating Products Ltd, a wholesale distributor of HVAC equipment and related products. He has a CPA, CGA designation as well as a business degree from Athabasca University. He brings several years’ experience in senior management roles in wholesale distribution, and manufacturing. Ray has extensive experience in strategic planning, finance, IT and human resources.

Cheryl is a Manager of payroll services at Entertainment Partners Canada, the leading production partner for the film industry.

Her father’s diagnosis with Prostate Cancer in 2003 was a catalyst for change, however. She took a break from EP Canada and became a Holistic Nutritionist and a Certified Professional Cancer Coach. She created a program, using diet and lifestyle changes, which supports cancer patients as they go through treatment.

Although she is back working full time in the film industry, she is excited to follow her passion and has joined the Board, helping raise awareness and much needed funds for research.

Jen is a Clinical Director and Kinesiologist with Lifemark Health Group in Kamloops, BC. Over the past 12 years, Jen has developed and delivered cancer rehabilitation programs at the community level and has advised on numerous cancer rehabilitation studies through the University of British Columbia and Thompson Rivers University. As a component of her Master of Rehabilitation Science degree, Jen completed a study to evaluate the supportive cancer care landscape for people with breast cancer in the Interior Health region of BC. Jen is new to the Prostate Cancer Foundation BC and is excited to lend her experience and energy to this important work.

Dr. Morris was the Cofounder and Head (1997-2008) of BC’s Provincial Prostate Brachytherapy Program He Co-supervised several MSc and PhD candidates in Medical Physics and Electrical and Computer Engineering And is a Coauthor of ~300 peer-reviewed publications with >6000 citations to date. He is the creator and Principal Investigator of the ASCENDE-RT randomized control trial And Co-author the OPTiMAL Trial for unfavourable risk prostate cancer (currently accruing at VCC)
